As many of you have heard (or experienced), D.C. received it's second Blizzard of the season! We are currently 460% over the average yearly DC snow fall.
Check out pictures from Saturday morning, Feb. 6, as the snow was falling about 1 inch per hour. I was out helping the apartment complex shovel the steps (one time). They kept at it from Friday night till Saturday night every few hours.

Then on Sunday, Feb. 7, Ruben and I took off for a walk to the Mall...we went from the Washington Monument towards the U.S. Capitol, then to Miss Alice's to shovel inches of snow! Amazingly the sidewalks were mostly clear of snow and ice. Groups of workers (usually 4-6) could be found in many locations shoveling the sidewalks clean, as well as using heavy steel bars to break through the ice (esp. at the curbs so we could cross the streets).

Videos: Though the Mall seemed devoid of the 20 plus inches everyone said we received, Ruben decided to investigate....
Of course, Ruben likes to check out frozen water....Ruben was about to start onto the pond in front of the U.S. Capitol, till I noticed the entire pond was "moving" as one piece of ice under his weight.
And as if the snow wasn't deep enough on the Mall....
What about those cars....
Monday, Feb 8 - most of the 'side' roads are still covered in snow and sidewalks once clean may now be covered with snow from the road plowing. Ruben and I walked to the grocery store (not attempting to drive yet) to stock up on a few perishables...and yes many shelves were getting thin, though we saw some grocery trucks on the roads...preparing to restock shelves!
